    Appreciate the video. Well presented. I have one question. Does waving that super-tele around by the camera body ever cause problems with the lens mount? I see you have the tripod support turned upside down on that lens so I’m assuming you regularly support the weight of that lens on the camera body

    • @SteveHedgesPhotography
      @SteveHedgesPhotography 2 дні тому

      Hi Lee, when I'm taking photos I'll either have the camera on a gimbal or fluid head. I will also use a camera strap, with either option they will be connected to the lens collar. That way the lens mount doesn't get any strain on it and the camera mount isn't damaged. Thanks for watching, all the best Steve.

    Hi Steve Firstly, congratulations on reaching the 5k subscribers milestone 🙂…. I am included in that figure 🙂 Thank you for this video which provided very sound advice for anyone flying to their destination. Erm …. I hope you don’t forget to pack some clothes too 😂 I had a trip to/from (overland by train so no restrictive weight limits) and around Slovenia from 18th May to 3rd June this year (2024). It is an unbelievably stunning and beautiful country with its huge mountains and extensive forests 😍 My trip included a 3-day photography package with Miha Mlakar’s Slovenian Bears (you didn’t say who you were using) and we had amazing and extended views of Brown Bears of various ages, including a mother and 2 tiny cubs, on each day from 3 different locations 😁. I had seen Brown Bears previously on trips to Finland but my Slovenia experience was easily the best for the number of Brown Bears seen, the lengthy views and the easy photography opportunities. Us Essex folk don't see too many Brown Bears on our local patches 😂 so, like me, I hope you have an incredible and rewarding time .... I look forward to seeing the video to prove it 🙂 Richard

      Hi Steve I am pleased to hear that you are with Slovenian Bears. I can not recommend them highly enough. In my opinion, the package is very good value for money with excellent accommodation, 3 meals per day and 3 x 6 hour sessions in the Brown Bear hides. You will be well looked after by Miha (the business owner), Lenart (one of the other guides) and Hana (who cooks, serves and drives!) Although it is not included in the package price, I would also recommend the reflection pool hide at Mlakar’s Guesthouse, both evening and morning (Miha charged us only 30 euros per session, somewhat lower than the website price). I had exceptional views/photo opportunities of Hedgehogs, Red Squirrels, Hawfinches, Willow Tits and commoner woodland birds …. plus a very brief sighting of a Stone Marten. If you want any other tips or advice, please ask. Have a good trip! Richard

    Thing is theyre designed for fast pro glass , otherwise dont use them ! Fast pro lenses use sharper specialist glass , the 200-500 isnt a pro lens , DO NOT go higher than 1.4 converter , you have to have very specialist lenses to get useable imagrs out of the 1.7 and 2x converter

    • @SteveHedgesPhotography
      @SteveHedgesPhotography 29 днів тому

      Hi Joe, yes I normally use my 1.4 converter with my 600mm F4 or my 300mm F2.8. But I thought I would experiment using the 1.4 converter with my 200-500mm zoom and it did work surprisingly well. Would this be a go to combination no it wouldn't but in the odd situation where more reach was needed and I only had the 200-500 I wouldn't rule out using the converter. I've since bought the 180-600mm to go with my Z8 as a walk around combo. Thanks for watching, all the best Steve.

      I haven't used the A1and 200-600 but I know photographers that are happy with that setup. But I can certainly say that the Z8 and 180-600 is pretty much the perfect combination. I absolutely love it. All the best Steve.

    👍 Nice one Steve. The Broads are great. Did a week on a boat on each of 3 successive years in 1999 - 2001. Sadly before I had a decent camera. My current calendar photo was taken from a Broads Cruiser with my Canon 70D last summer: ua-cam.com/video/zckqgkzSkjQ/v-deo.htmlsi=JbHJnVeewWxAt5Jh 🤓
